AVG Honored with U.S. Channel Awards by SMB Nation and The ASCII Group

AMSTERDAM & SAN FRANCISCO--()--AVG Technologies (NYSE: AVG), the provider of Internet and mobile security to 128 million active users, is the recipient of two recent awards for exemplary service to US channel partners.

SMB Nation honored AVG with a 2012 Hot Shot Award for Security, made in recognition of SMB channel vendors who have made a difference for VARs, MSPs, and IT consultants through their commitment and efforts in SMB IT. The ASCII Group organization of independent computer resellers bestowed AVG with an “Esteemed Noble Partner” award, made annually to a technology company that has shown outstanding channel goodwill and a commitment to helping ASCII members grow their revenue and more effectively serve their customers.

The SMB Nation Hot Shot Awards were made in conjunction with the recently concluded SMB Nation 2012 Fall Conference. AVG was selected as the award winner for security, and was cited for its “product diversity, uniqueness, ability to enhance the SMB industry, cost efficiency, ability to overcome technology obstacles, and impact on SMB IT solution provider operations.”

The ASCII Group chose AVG for one of its Esteemed Noble Partner awards. The award is based on nominees for the ASCII Cup that are voted upon by its membership at regional ASCII Success Summit meetings and culminate with the annual presentation each year at the SMB Nation event. Earlier this year AVG also won an award during the ASCII’s Success Summits for “Best in Show.” “Our award is based on quality of product, commitment to customer service, dedication to the channel and ways resellers can bring more revenue to their businesses,” said Jerry Koutavas, President, The ASCII Group. “AVG is deserving of this type of recognition for building well received channel friendly solutions that resonate with our community.”

“AVG has renewed our commitment to the channel by making sure our partners' voices are heard more than ever by everyone at AVG that participates in building, marketing and selling SMB product they buy," said Luke Walling, Vice President of Sales and Operations at AVG North America. "During the past year, this has included input into the creation of our newly launched AVG CloudCare™ product and the formation of our US Partner Advisory Council. These awards are special recognitions that validate our close attention to the voice of our customer.”

AVG officially launched AVG CloudCare™, offering simplified security and IT management specifically built for small businesses and the channel that serves them, during SMB Nation. To find out more and become an AVG CloudCare partner, go to www.avg.com/cloudcare.
