TelcoTV 2012

ACTON, Mass.--()--SeaChange International (Nasdaq: SEAC), a leading global multi-screen video software innovator, today announced that its breakthrough Nucleus™ Soft Box gateway was named the Best Innovation in Customer Premises Equipment in the fifth annual TelcoTV Vision Awards. Winners were announced last week in Las Vegas at TelcoTV 2012, the largest conference and expo focused on the U.S. broadband service provider market.

SeaChange’s Nucleus™ Soft Box is the unifying gateway software that supports the industry’s RDK (Reference Development Kit) software environment and vendor ecosystem, and enables video service providers’ migration from QAM to IP video so they can offer consumers multi-screen media sharing, whole-home DVR, access to online apps and over-the-top content, smartphone and tablet apps that act as the TV remote control, and much more.

SeaChange’s In-Home Business General Manager Shiva Patibanda said, “Gateways are enabling service providers to enhance the value of their relationship with subscribers who are constantly adding new devices to watch TV and share video content everywhere in the home. SeaChange made an evolutionary leap with our Nucleus introduction and we’ll keep innovating this way so providers can continue to excel across multi-screen subscriber experiences.”

The TelcoTV Vision Awards recognize companies that are leaders in driving innovation in the broadband service provider industry. The awards program includes a wide range of categories and was open to all members of the industry’s ecosystem. All submissions were reviewed by an independent panel of distinguished judges, comprised of the industry’s leading analysts and executives.

“TelcoTV Vision Award winners are among the industry’s leading video service providers, technology manufactures and equipment vendors,” said Carolyn Herr, Show Director, TelcoTV. “SeaChange has demonstrated outstanding innovation and leadership with its Nucleus soft box and we congratulate the company on winning the top honors in this year’s awards.”

At the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo earlier this month in Orlando, SeaChange’s patent-pending Nitro Now QuickLink QR code technology was awarded a Communications Technology Platinum Award for mobile multi-screen innovation. This is the Company’s second consecutive Platinum win.

Also, SeaChange recently announced that it had won its third Technology & Engineering Emmy®award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for the “Development and Commercialization for Digital Infrastructure for Local Cable Ad Insertion.” SeaChange will collect the Emmy statuette at the 64th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards ceremony during the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.
