As George Mason University’s first qualifier for the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship Tournament, Paul remained close to GMU, wrestling after graduation. Paul worked diligently in his last year of life to join forces with former wrestlers and coaches from GMU to form the Patriot Elite Wrestling Club. The proceeds from the tournament will be used to support Paul’s dream of cultivating wrestling in the Northern Virginia area. | |
WHAT ELSE: |
The mission of the club is to support and encourage amateur wrestlers in the Greater Washington area. Patriot Elite is sanctioned by USA Wrestling, and is operated by the George Mason University wrestling team and its coaches. The club offers both youth and high school programs and trains in all three styles of wrestling — collegiate and both Olympic forms, Greco-Roman and freestyle. | |
