Emergent Systems Selected to Participate in NSRP Research Project

DEARBORN, Mich.--()--Emergent Systems will be teaming up with NASSCO and Bollinger Shipyards to develop a ''Design for Production Rules Delivery and Technical Memory Management System'' for Shipyards in order to evaluate the impact of Emergent’s Knowledge Management technology, E2ks, on naval ship design and cost. This effort was one of twelve projects selected by the National Shipbuilding Research Project (NSRP) Executive Control Board (ECB) to help reduce Total Ownership Cost (TOC) for the Navy.

“We are pleased that the NSRP ECB has chosen to fund this important research project,” said Greg Burek, Director of Business Development at Emergent Systems. “We believe that our E2ks technology will significantly reduce mission costs for Navy shipbuilding by allowing the capture, refinement, and re-deployment of shipbuilding knowledge in ways that will promote efficient and high performance ship design.”

On September 26, 2012, in Washington DC, the NSRP Executive Control Board selected the 12 new research and development projects for award as part of the National Shipbuilding Research Program’s (NSRP) core mission to reduce the costs associated with Navy shipbuilding and repair. The projects, totaling approximately $1.8 million, will be executed through the NSRP Ship Production Panels which serve as the program’s primary public forum for industry-wide networking, technology transfer and best-practice sharing.
