RI.gov Maintains Fourth Place Ranking in the Center for Digital Government’s Best of the Web

PROVIDENCE, R.I.--()--Rhode Island’s official state website, http://www.RI.gov, has won top honors, ranking fourth among the country’s best websites in the national Best of the Web competition by the Center for Digital Government. This is the second year in a row that the Web site has received a fourth-place ranking in the awards competition.

The 2012 Best of the Web recognizes the most innovative state Web portals. Sites are judged on overall efficiency, economy, functionality and design. The review is conducted by the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies.

This year, RI.gov optimized the site for mobile first, desktop second. The concept is called responsive design and the result is a faster, better experience for everyone.
