Cintas INROADS Scholar Program Encourages Leadership Development Among Underserved Youth

Program offers corporate experience and mentoring opportunities to students

CINCINNATI--()--Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS), today announced the successful completion of its 2012 Scholar Day event, which enables underserved youth to connect with Cintas senior executives through the company’s INROADS Scholar Program. INROADS, a longtime partner of Cintas, is a not-for-profit dedicated to placing underserved youth in business environments to enhance their leadership skills.

This year’s event hosted 75 INROADS scholars at Cintas’ corporate headquarters in Cincinnati and allowed attendees to connect with Phillip Holloman, President and Chief Operating Officer at Cintas, as well as other Cintas business leaders and former INROADS scholars, now Cintas partners, who came from all over the U.S. and Canada.

“We are delighted when corporations take an interest in developing young talent,” said Forest Harper, President and CEO, at INROADS. “Cintas has been a dedicated partner to INROADS since 1995, helping many young men and women navigate the business environment early in their educational and professional careers.”

By partnering with INROADS, Cintas is paired with interns, also called scholars, who show an interest in the business and are deemed to be a good fit for the company’s culture. Scholars rotate through various departments and build mentoring relationships with Cintas partners. The program also enables scholars to engage with a different Cintas leader on weekly conference calls. Exceptional scholars are offered full time positions with the company prior to beginning their final year of college. To date, Cintas has welcomed an estimated 175 students as scholars in its INROADS Scholar Program.

“Throughout the years, our INROADS Scholar Program has grown extensively, while continuing to provide quality leadership development skills to aspiring business executives,” said Kristi Clement Williams, Director, Corporate Diversity and Inclusion, Cintas. “We’re always looking to expand and diversify our talent pool and INROADS has allowed us to connect with and hire great candidates, some of whom are still with us as partners today.”
