SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARUN) today announced that its Mobile Virtual Enterprise (MOVE) architecture has received qualification in the Microsoft Lync Server Wi-Fi compliance program. The program ensures that products comply with Microsoft’s guidelines for voice and video quality of service (QoS) delivery. Qualified products deliver a more consistent unified communications experience to end users while resellers benefit from fewer deployment issues and service call backs.
“Incorporating a rich feature set and user-friendly unified communications experience, Lync works with the network infrastructure to deliver QoS to users throughout an enterprise,” said Warren Barkley, general manager, Microsoft Lync.“The qualification program validates that network infrastructure solutions meet our standards. Aruba’s MOVE architecture solution helps to bring Lync resellers and end users worldwide a mobility solution that meets Lync performance standards.”
Aruba offers wireless, wired, and remote access infrastructure for Microsoft Lync applications. Introduced in 2011, Aruba’s Mobile Virtual Enterprise (MOVE) architecture delivers cost-effective, converged network access that is supplemented by Aruba’s ClearPass solution to securely provision mobile devices for BYOD applications. Tests have shown Aruba Wi-Fi provides up to 75 percent better performance for Microsoft Lync Server 2010 compared to an equivalent Cisco Wi-Fi network. The degree of improvement was calculated from mean opinion scores (MOS) after testing by Aruba and Microsoft, using Microsoft testing and evaluation criteria.
“The rapid adoption of mobile devices, the desire of CEOs to foster innovation through collaboration, and the renewed focus by CFOs on workplace productivity are driving the extension of unified communications to users and devices throughout the enterprise,” said Ben Gibson, Aruba’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Aruba’s highly-secure, context-aware wireless network and Lync work well together. Aruba offers a solution without peer that has been tested from end-to-end. As Microsoft continues ongoing qualification development, we are committed to maintaining our position.”
