COLUMBIA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CA-DPR) has issued a certificate of registration allowing the use of Double Nickel™ 55 fungicide by state farmers. A product from Certis USA, Double Nickel is a new generation of bacterial biofungicide based on Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain D747 (Ba D747). The U.S. EPA registered it for use in December 2011. Another formulation, Double Nickel™ LC, is expected to be approved for use by the CA-DPR in the near future. Double Nickel is used to control powdery mildew, Botrytis and bacterial diseases of fruiting and leafy vegetables, grapes, strawberries and tree fruit.
