RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NTP Inc., the company founded by wireless email inventor Tom Campana, announced today that it has reached a mutual resolution with 13 companies, including wireless carriers AT&T Inc. (T), Verizon Wireless (VZ), Sprint Nextel Corporation (S), T-Mobile; smartphone manufacturers Apple Inc. (AAPL), HTC Corporation (HTC), Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. (MMI), Palm Inc. (PALM), LG Electronics (KRX:066570) and Samsung (KRX:005930); and email service and software providers Google Inc. (GOOG), Microsoft Corporation (MSFT), and Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO). NTP has entered into an agreement with the identified parties. As a result, all pending litigation between NTP and these companies will be dismissed.
NTP holds eight distinct U.S. patents relating to the delivery of electronic mail over wireless systems.
The signed agreement provides broad coverage under NTP’s patent portfolio to all of the companies. The contents of the agreement have not been disclosed.
