The UTC office serves as the regional hub for the Bank’s Commercial Business Banking and Income Property teams of San Diego-based bankers including Steve Lopez, Director Portfolio Manager – Commercial Business Banking; Ric Schroder, Director Portfolio Manager – Commercial Business Banking; Dale Tice, Director Portfolio Manager – Commercial Business Banking; and Christopher “C.J.” Donovan, Director – Income Property Banking.

Steve Lopez, a 21-year banking veteran, joined the bank most recently from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he served as Vice President, Business Development Officer. Earlier in his banking career, Mr. Lopez served in senior business development officer roles with San Diego National Bank, 1st Pacific Bank of California, First National Bank, and Wells Fargo Bank.
Ric Schroder, a 26-year banking veteran, joined the bank most recently from Small Business Capital, a specialized Small Business Administration lender focusing on 7(a) loans, where he served as Vice President, Business Development Officer. Earlier in his banking career, Mr. Schroder served in senior business development officer roles with Bank of Southern California, Temecula Valley Bank, 1st Pacific Bank of California, and First National Bank.
Dale Tice, a 10-year banking veteran, joined the bank most recently from Pacific Western Bank, where he served for four years as Vice President, Corporate Banking Officer. Earlier in his banking career, Mr. Tice served in business development roles with Security Business Bank, San Diego Community Bank and within the Premier Banking Group of Wells Fargo Bank.
CJ Donovan joined the bank most recently from JPMorgan Chase where he served as Loan Consultant, Commercial Lending Team. Earlier in his career, Mr. Donovan served as a business development officer with the San Diego Newspaper Group and as a Project Manager for M2000.
