DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The TriZetto Group, Inc., has named Chris Hunter senior vice president of the company and president of its physician market group. At TriZetto, Hunter will focus on expanding the company’s leadership position in the group-practice market, as well as enabling solutions that improve collaboration between healthcare payers and providers. Most recently a member of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee’s leadership team, Hunter will lead the expansion of TriZetto’s revenue cycle management capabilities and adoption of the company’s real-time payer-provider connectivity solutions within the broader physician market.
“We’ve grown our medical-practice client base this year from 70,000 physicians to 120,000 and expect to serve some 200,000 by year’s end,” said Trace Devanny, chairman and CEO of TriZetto. “With more than 20 years of experience and strong relationships with key healthcare payer and provider organizations, Chris brings the leadership and unique industry expertise to manage this dramatic growth in our physician business. Chris will drive adoption of TriZetto’s real-time, integrated technology platform, which can help payers and providers collaborate for more efficient claims processing and the most informed care delivery.”
During Hunter’s eight-year career with BlueCross, he served as president and CEO of Onlife Health, a national health and wellness subsidiary based in Nashville. Under Hunter’s direction, Onlife Health rebranded and refocused its business and portfolio, attracting numerous blue-chip companies as new clients. While at BlueCross, Hunter cultivated a close, working relationship with TriZetto, serving as an observer to TriZetto’s board of directors. In addition to his healthcare payer and provider expertise, Hunter brings a formidable background in finance, having held senior positions with investment banking institutions, as well as academic credentials that include study at Oxford University, a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
“With Chris coming aboard, we continue to expand upon a truly world-class leadership team that makes TriZetto the ideal strategic technology partner for both healthcare payers and providers,” Devanny said. “The end game in U.S. healthcare is to help these constituents collaborate more effectively to simplify healthcare for everyone. Our growing payer-provider footprint uniquely positions TriZetto to play a leading role in achieving this outcome.”
Hunter will report to Devanny and be based in TriZetto’s Denver headquarters office.
