PetSmart Appoints Paulette Dodson Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

PHOENIX--()--PetSmart, Inc. has named Paulette Dodson to the position of senior vice president, general counsel and secretary.

Dodson brings more than 25 years of legal counsel experience to PetSmart, most recently serving as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Sara Lee Corp. While Dodson served there, Sara Lee had more than $9 billion in annual revenue and 25,000 employees worldwide, and was the global manufacturer and marketer of its namesake products, Sara Lee, among others.

Before joining Sara Lee, Dodson spent 14 years at the Tribune Company, which owns The Chicago Tribune and The Los Angeles Times. From 1992 to 2000, Dodson served as counsel for publishing, and from 2000 to 2007, she held the title of assistant general counsel for publishing. Dodson has also held roles at Inland Steel as an operations attorney from 1989 to 1992 and Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis, MN as a corporate finance associate from 1987 to 1989.

A native of Jamaica, Dodson earned her bachelor’s degree from City College of New York and a law degree from Cornell Law School.
