FORT LEE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aveta Inc. – one of the nation’s largest managed care providers – announced today the appointment of Sydney V. Ross-Davis, M.D. as Chief Medical Officer of its subsidiary, North American Medical Management of Illinois (NAMM–IL).
NAMM–IL is a physician management organization that specializes in working with physician practices and hospitals to manage the delivery of medical services and the revenue and healthcare expenses of medical groups.
Dr. Ross-Davis will join the NAMM–IL Executive Team in setting strategic direction, enhancing existing products and services, and developing new programs and opportunities. She will have primary responsibility for the clinical oversight and medical management of the UM/QM, Population Health and Case Management programs.
Dr. Ross-Davis comes to NAMM–IL from Healthcare Service Corporation (HCSC), the parent company of Blue Cross Blue Shield Illinois (BCBSIL), where she has held several leadership roles since beginning her tenure in 2003. Most recently she was program lead for ANSI 5010/ICD-10 for HCSC’s 10 million members in four states.
Prior to joining HCSC, Dr. Ross-Davis was Associate Medical Director at Tinley Park Mental Health Center in Tinley Park, Ill., and co-founder of the consulting firm InCA, Inc., which specialized in physician office practice efficiency. Dr. Ross-Davis also worked for Advocate Health as a Medical Director and Michael Reese HMO as a clinician.
Dr. Ross-Davis is a member of the AMA, ACP/ASIM, National Medical Association, the Cook County Physician’s Association and Chair of the NMA Medical Administration Section. She is a graduate of University of Chicago Undergraduate College and Northwestern University Medical School, and is a Board Certified Internist with over 20 years of clinical experience.
