Wireless Health Convergence Summit 2012

MINNEAPOLIS--()--Today, TripleTree announced the 2012 TripleTree iAwards winners. Four finalists in three different categories, Operational Innovation, Clinical Innovation and Consumer Innovation, had been previously announced on April 25. The twelve finalists were AwarePoint, Centene, Consult-a-Doctor, CureMD, eviti, Fitlinxx, HomeCare HomeBase, Mobile Heartbeat, Silverlink/Aetna, Telcare, Watermark Medical and WellAware.

The winners of each category were selected following presentations by all finalists yesterday at the 7th annual Wireless Health Convergence Summit, on May 24, 2012, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.

“It was very difficult for our judges to select winners this year because the caliber of finalists was remarkably high,” said Chris Hoffmann, Senior Director of Research at TripleTree. “All of the companies demonstrated that their wireless health solutions are truly making a positive impact in the industry, reducing costs and improving outcomes.”

The 2012 TripleTree iAwards winners in each category are:

1. Operational Innovation: HomeCare HomeBase

2. Clinical Innovation: Telcare

3. Consumer Innovation: Silverlink/Aetna

HomeCare HomeBase was awarded for their comprehensive, mobile and fully integrated Web-based software system that improves the administrative, clinical and financial operations for homecare.

“Mobile technology is helping increase efficiencies while addressing important compliance issues in homecare,” said Tom Maxwell, Chief Strategy Officer at HomeCare HomeBase. “We are thankful to TripleTree, the WLSA, and everyone else involved with the iAwards. It is important to encourage and acknowledge healthcare companies that are making a difference.”

Telcare was awarded for their cellular-enabled blood glucose meter that instantly transmits glucose values to a care-management server and provides instant feedback and coaching to patients with diabetes.

“This has been an eventful year for our business, beginning with the commercial launch of our product,” said Dr. Jonathan Javitt, Founder and CEO of Telcare. “The relevance and adoption of wireless health continues to grow rapidly and we are honored to be recognized by TripleTree with this prestigious award.”

Silverlink/Aetna was awarded for their texting program that helps educate, motivate and monitor people with diabetes to more easily and successfully control their condition and avoid costly complications.

“Innovation just for innovation sake is not worthwhile,” said Dr. Jan Berger, Chief Medical Officer at Silverlink. “The iAwards are focused on innovations that are producing real results. It’s a great honor for Silverlink and our partner Aetna to win this award.”

The TripleTree iAwards were created to recognize and reward exceptional companies that are demonstrating insight, innovation, and initiative in the healthcare industry. On an annual basis, nominated companies are judged based upon an evolving set of criteria with a focus on transformative solutions that are shaping the future of healthcare.
