TMAT Ltd Gets General Motors’ Green Light

CHESTERFIELD, England--()--TMAT Ltd a multi-national manufacturer of acoustic components for the ACE (agricultural-construction-earthmoving) markets has been given the all clear to be an approved supplier of General Motors.

The green light was bestowed on TMAT Ltd earlier this week after completing General Motors’ thorough audit process. The company was asked to consider supplying polyurethane and acoustic parts for the automotive giant which is currently looking to build more supply chain links with British manufacturers.

Historically the company has deliberately stayed away from the resource-hungry automotive industry and while this move does not flag a change of direction for TMAT, David Delaney, Operations Manager, certainly welcomed the audit, he commented: “For a medium-sized manufacturing company that doesn’t currently seek to supply the automotive industry this was a very interesting proposition. The team here benefitted hugely from the audit process and it was a good learning experience, not to mention a great achievement.”

TMAT Ltd is a multi-national manufacturer of acoustic solutions for the special vehicles sector. The company, based in Chesterfield, works with some of the world’s biggest heavy plant manufacturers, including: Case, New Holland Tractors, JCB, Komatsu and Volvo Construction and employs more than 100 people. The company grew more than 21 per cent in 2011 and recorded record sales each quarter. TMAT’s export sales represent 53% of total sales and the company is exporting its products all over the globe throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas.
