MundoFox Sees Dramatic Increase in Key Market Affiliations

New Spanish-Language Broadcast Network Nears Commitments for Close to 70% U.S. Hispanic Market Penetration in Just First Four Months

Advertisers and Affiliates Hail Choice Offered by Innovative New Network

LOS ANGELES--()--MundoFox, the new Spanish-language broadcast network, today announced additional affiliation commitments in several top markets nationwide. These commitments dramatically increase the market penetration for the new network scheduled to launch this Summer. To date, MundoFox has secured affiliates in over 40 DMAs, and is in advanced negotiations in an additional 10 DMAs, which collectively represent nearly 70% of U.S. Hispanic Households.

The additional affiliations coincide with a swift and highly positive reaction to the network's initial Upfront presentation held in New York on May 16.

"The addition of MundoFox will revolutionize Spanish-language television by providing a unique broadcast network for today's Latinos," said Isabella Sanchez, Vice President of Media Integration, Zubi Advertising Services. "They have all the right elements to be successful: compelling content, national distribution, and a strong commitment from the entire FOX organization."

To date, MundoFox has lined up Full Power stations in six of the top 10 U.S. Hispanic markets (Los Angeles # 1, Dallas #6, San Antonio #7, San Francisco #8, Phoenix #9 and Harlingen/McAllen #10), as well as with WJAN-41 in Miami (#3), the largest Spanish-Language independent station in the US. Additionally, MundoFox has secured an affiliate with full carriage in Chicago (# 5) and expects to announce affiliations in New York (#2) and Houston (#4) in the coming weeks, rounding out the top 10 markets.

"MundoFox is poised to be a legitimate competitor in the US Hispanic broadcast space given what appears to be its significant investment in content, including shows that span proven genres plus exclusive premieres of the new seasons of recent hits familiar to US audiences. Increasing its distribution combined with a robust promotional plan will be key to building a strong viewer base upon launch," said Marcy Greenberger, VP, Media Director at Tapestry, a Division of Starcom MediaVest Group.

In addition to previously announced affiliates including America TeVe, Meruelo Media Holdings, Hero Broadcasting, Cranston II LLC and Cocola Broadcasting, MundoFox has affiliations in place with Entravision in five DMAs including Harlingen, with London Broadcasting in four DMAs including Corpus Christi, with NRJ TV in San Francisco, with Fox Television Stations in Washington, D.C., and with Central Broadcasting in Orlando.

MundoFox, headquartered in Los Angeles, is a joint venture between Fox International Channels and the RCN Television Group (RCN). Distribution agreements in the remaining top Hispanic markets across the country are still being finalized and should be in place when the network launches.
