TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the foremost non-profit trade promotion organization in Taiwan, is pleased to announce the participation of 18 enterprises from Taiwan in this year’s Expo Ferretera Internacional. The trade fair, which is a well-renowned trade event in the Dominican Republic, is believed to be an ideal channel that can further boost the trade relations between Taiwan and the Dominican Republic.
In 2011, the bilateral trade between Taiwan and the Dominican Republic generated a trade volume of US$151 million (US$103 million in exports and US$48 million in imports). Through the close coordination and unfailing efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in the Dominican Republic, it is anticipated that mutual relations will continue to flourish in the years ahead.
From the 7th to the 10th of June, Taiwan will be presenting its latest products in the Taiwan Pavilion, which will feature two major sections. One section will be an image area which will showcase many outstanding products highlighting Taiwan’s image as an industry leader in ICT. The other section will be a showground for the 18 participating exhibitors from Taiwan, where they will display a vast range of products that come from Taiwan’s niche industries. Products to be showcased include computer parts and accessories, MP3/MP4 players, cell phones, laptops, surveillance security systems, digital cameras, bicycles, hardware, kitchenware, machineries, building materials, auto parts and accessories, among many others.
At the TAITRA service station, in addition to presenting brochures and various promotional materials that represent Taiwan’s key business sectors, TAITRA offers helpful tips on how to do business with Taiwan and introduces business and trade opportunities that are available in the country. TAITRA warmly welcomes all business enterprises to visit the Taiwan Pavilion at San Souci Centro de Convenciones, Puerto Santo Domingo Este.
