Memoir Systems CEO to Speak at Semico Research Conference “Focus on the IP Ecosystem” Panel

Adam Kablanian will discuss the role of memory IP subsystems in reducing SoC design complexity

Semico Research’s Impact Conference 2012

SANTA CLARA, Calif--()--Memoir Systems Inc., the Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP) provider that delivers breakthrough embedded memory performance, today announced that Adam Kablanian, company CEO, will be among the speakers at Semico Research’s Impact Conference--Focus on the IP Ecosystem. The event will take place on May 16, 2012, at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose, California.

Kablanian noted, “I am very excited to be a part of this inaugural IP event. With the increased pressure on SoC developers to cut costs, reduce development time, and eliminate risks in the designs they are currently undertaking, the timing of this event is perfect. I am also pleased to be part of a key group of industry companies that includes those that have long been providing IP SoC solutions.”

Jim Feldhan, President of Semico stated, “We are delighted to have Adam as part of the prestigious group of speakers who will be participating in this conference. The most recent sea change in the semiconductor industry has been the growth of third-party IP blocks. These blocks represent a critical aspect of the overall SoC design process but, until now, there has been little done as an industry to discuss their role in SoC development methods.”

Kablanian continued, “Now is the time for IP suppliers to work together as a whole and focus on making the design development process as efficient as possible. This includes educating the architects and developers about the technology that is available, and providing the best suite of available solutions to these key customers. None of the design problems that we are encountering today happen in a vacuum—if one company experiences a design challenge, it’s very likely that several other companies will be facing similar challenges. At Memoir Systems, we feel we can assist the industry in coming together to solve today’s SoC challenges. Memoir’s technology and the Renaissance product family can help essentially any company or group involved in developing SoCs including system OEMs and fabless chip companies, IDMs, ASIC providers, and memory IP companies.”

In April 2012, Memoir Systems announced its first commercial product, Renaissance™ 2X. Memoir’s Renaissance 2X memory IP family of products brings a revolutionary approach to memory design that seamlessly integrates into a SoC design flow and reduces cost, time to market, silicon failure risks, and provides up to 50% smaller area and lower power memory cores compared to traditional 8T based two port functionality.
