SALZBURG, Austria--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Video: Facebook Locations, Trip Advisor, Yelp, Hotels.com, and Audio and Animation support
Wikitude, the world’s first and leading Augmented Reality browser has today launched Wikitude 7 which features a completely revamped user interface, unique and branded content worlds, new tools including audio and animation support, and deep social graph integration.
Taking advantage of open APIs, Wikitude now allows users to view any geotagged data posted by friends via Facebook in an augmented reality view. Status updates, photos, and location check-ins are all recognized in Wikitude 7, making it possible to literally follow in a friend’s footsteps and experience the very same locations.
Wikitude 7 makes use of a new panorama interface on both iOS and Android devices. With this unique presentation, featured worlds and Wikitude content partners are immediately accessible, providing users with a content rich Augmented Reality view of their surroundings.
Highlighting top brands including TripAdvisor, Yelp and Hotels.com, Wikitude 7’s all new Featured Content dashboard presents users with a fun and unique way to discover the world around them. Featured content worlds now have their own unique design and feel, providing distinctive branding and interactivity options for partners.
"We are delighted to partner with Wikitude to help empower their users to make the very best travel decisions when preparing for their trip, through insight and feedback from the experiences of over 50 million travellers. With TripAdvisor on the Wikitude mobile application, users are only a couple of clicks away from discovering a top rated hotel, restaurant or attraction," comments Rory Kenny, Director Mobile Partnership EMEA, TripAdvisor.
Wikitude 7 serves as a flagship example of what is now possible with Wikitude’s new Augmented Reality technology platform, also utilized in the Wikitude SDK. Going far beyond the AR possibilities of yesterday, Wikitude is carving out the Augmented Reality experience of tomorrow. Based on the Wikitude ARchitect engine, Wikitude 7 now allows consumers and developers a wide range of interactivity including audio support, field of vision triggers, and animations to name only a few.
“The great thing with the integration of Hotels.com in Wikitude is that customers can look at last minute deals for hotels nearby using their phone camera. They can look at hotels available around them, find the right prices, look at photos of the hotel, as well as customer reviews. That provides to the customer a great, and content rich experience,” adds Yannick Barriol, Mobile Marketing, Hotels.com.
Wikitude 7 is now available for both iOS and Android devices. Download it, and discover your world today!
