AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gazzang today announced results for the first quarter 2012, representing the company’s strongest period to date. Revenues grew substantially quarter over quarter, driven by sizeable wins in key vertical industries and increasing demand for robust key management and encryption solutions for the cloud and big data.
“Big data is driving a new wave of insight and innovation around customer engagement, product development and service delivery,” said Larry Warnock, president and CEO of Gazzang. “But there are significant security risks that have to be addressed around how that data is secured and who is exposed to it. We’re helping organizations seize the opportunity of big data while ensuring continued security and compliance. Our results this quarter prove Gazzang is on the right track, and I’m confident we will continue to expand on this success.”
First quarter highlights included:
- Strong Sales - Gazzang saw significant growth in sales across new business and existing customer accounts, including strong traction in SaaS companies, financial services, healthcare and the public sector. Key wins included the United States Department of Health and Human Services, SAIC, Numara (a division of BMC Software), Movero, UCLA Health System and the University of Michigan.
- Product Innovation – Gazzang announced its Encryption Platform for Big Data, a cloud-based encryption and key management platform that protects the massive volume of data organizations collect, store and analyze against the risk of unauthorized access or attack. The solution works as a last line of defense for protecting data within Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB and other NoSQL data stores commonly associated with big data initiatives.
- Industry Accolades – Gazzang was named one of “10 Austin Startups to Meet at SXSW 2012” by GigaOM and was featured in other top tier media coverage including Bloomberg, CIO.com, Network World, DBTA and ReadWriteWeb.
- Employee Growth - Gazzang continued to add talent with key additions in customer support, marketing, product development and engineering.
