BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gooch & Housego the global optical components and systems manufacturer has launched a new range of high power multimode Active Fiber Combiners for the fiber laser market. This compliments their existing portfolio of high power fiber laser components including;
- kW-class multimode fiber combiners
- Singlemode fused tap couplers and wavelength combiners
- Fiber coupled acousto-optic modulators
- Fiber end caps & mode-field adapters
- Fiber-in, Beam-out (FIBO) isolators & Fiber-in, Fiber out (FIFO) isolators
- Fiber coupled SHG modules
The Active Fiber Combiner uses actively doped fiber during its construction rather than an un-doped version of the active fiber which is normally used. The use of doped fiber eliminates the requirement to splice between component and active fiber which leads to unwanted losses. The use of the Active Fiber Combiner leads to a more efficient system and minimisation of the problems associated with a passive to active fiber splice.
Further information about the full high power fibre laser product portfolio will be available at the SPIE Defense, Security + Sensing Symposium in Baltimore on 23rd – 27th April 2012.
