SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WideOrbit Inc., the leading provider of advertising management software for media companies is pleased to announce that it has launched WO Master Control, its award-winning Master Control solution, in record time after KWHY – Channel 22 in Los Angeles, California made their selection. Within a very aggressive timeframe, WideOrbit brought KWHY live by its scheduled first airdate with WideOrbit’s flexible, fully-integrated IT and DTV Master Control solution, WO Master Control.
KWHY Television is a Spanish-language television station and the flagship network affiliate for the MundoFox Network. Meruelo Media is the parent company of KWHY.
“We couldn’t find another vendor who could have done such a professional job on time and on budget,” said Otto Padron, President of Meruelo Media. “WideOrbit didn’t hesitate. After seeing the dedication and attentiveness of their team, plus the advanced, integrated technology that WO Master Control provides, we couldn’t have asked for more. We’re extremely pleased with the level of service that WideOrbit provides, the quality of their people, and the superior flexibility and functionality of WO Master Control.”
WO Master Control is the industry’s first, fully-integrated IT and DTV Master Control solution. WO Master Control provides up to 16 channels of HD/SD, Master Control switching, graphics, automation and content storage in a SINGLE rack. This advanced technology allowed WideOrbit to meet KWHY’s aggressive timeline, and the station is now seeing the distinctive benefits that the integrated solution provides.
The intuitive software and GUI enabled KWHY staff to quickly learn the functionality of the solution, from ingest and content management to branding and playout, through seamless integration with WO Traffic, WideOrbit’s leading sales, traffic and billing solution. WO Master Control has enabled KWHY to operate in an unattended “lights out” mode for on-air activity, except for live events. In addition, WO Master Control has eliminated the need for additional transcoding technology, resulting in reduced operating costs for KWHY.
“A key benefit with the file-based WO Master Control system is that our staff is now able to contribute and share content within our network environment,” said Tomas Trujillo, Assistant General Manager at KWHY. “This significantly improves turnaround to get content on air.”
“We are very happy to have KWHY running WO Master Control in a near ‘lights out’ studio,” said Eric R. Mathewson, Founder and CEO of WideOrbit. “We are eager to show prospective clients WO Master Control as we think it is a very compelling technology that will help drive significant cost savings in both CapEx and ongoing operational expense.”
WideOrbit will be providing live demonstrations of WO Master Control and all of its solutions at the 2012 NAB Show in booths N5129 and N5829 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 16-19.
