PennFuture to Hold FutureFest, with Three Hot Events for a Cool Planet

No flying cars yet, but some pretty cool new technology will be on display

PITTSBURGH--()--Citizens for Pennsylvania’s Future (PennFuture) announced it would be holding FutureFest – three hot events for a cool planet in April and May in Pittsburgh. While the organizers can’t promise any flying cars, the events will showcase the technology and the movers and shakers making Pittsburgh a green hub.

Revenge of the Electric Car

  • They declared them dead, but they’re alive – alive! Watch Revenge of the Electric Car, a follow up to the 2006 award winning documentary Who Killed the Electric Car? and see real electric cars – a Tesla Roadster, Nissan Leaf and a Chevy Volt, and other alternative fuel vehicles – and hear from their owners on Thursday, April 12 at the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Avenue in East Liberty from 6 until 9:30 p.m. The cost is just $8 (includes popcorn, beer, and soft drinks) for many, but it is free for PennFuture members.

  • Be part of the winning team at The Electrifying Future of Efficiency, our open house and quiz show on saving energy on Thursday, April 26 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Grey Box Theatre, 3595 Butler Street in Lawrenceville. Cost is $15 ($10 for students); free for PennFuture members.

Clean Energy Matters

  • Find out how much on Thursday, May 24 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Phipps Conservatory in Oakland. See the hottest new renewable energy technology and hear from Andrea Luecke, executive director of the Solar Foundation, and real live green energy entrepreneurs. Cost, which includes drinks and hors d’oeuvres, is $20 ($15 for students), free for PennFuture members.
