Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/e2f9a25a/the_report_kuwait) has announced the addition of the "The Report: Kuwait 2012" country profile to their offering.
The past year has seen marked progress in both the political and economic sphere as Kuwait emerged from the financial crisis. As in much of the world, public spending - in this case, the provision of some 30bn dinars ($104bn) as part of a four-year spending package passed in February 2010 - has cushioned the impact of decreased private spending. The rarely observed cooperation within Parliament which pushed the spending bill through has, for many investors, served as proof that the country is serious about tackling its long-term economic sustainability. Within the energy sector, which accounts for the lion's share of Kuwait's GDP, a technical agreement with Royal Dutch Shell marked a sea change for an industry which has historically been dominated by domestic investment. A focus on diversification and an upgrade of Kuwait's infrastructure over the next decade look likely to equip the country with the fundamentals to successfully ride out future economic turmoil.
