DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Six KoonsFuller divorce and family law attorneys were selected for the list of Texas Rising Stars for 2012 featured in the spring edition of Texas Super Lawyers magazine. This is the greatest number of divorce attorneys from any one family law firm in the state to make the list.
Rising Star honorees from KoonsFuller this year include Clint Brown, Julie Crawford, Emily Miskel, Rachel Moore, Kristy Sims Piazza and Rebecca Tillery.
Miskel and Tillery are first-time divorce and family law honorees, while the others have made the divorce attorney list in previous years. In addition, Ashley McDowell, Liz Porter and Victor Rivera made the Rising Stars list in 2010.
The nine divorce and family law attorneys represent all four offices of KoonsFuller – Dallas, Plano, Southlake and Denton. KoonsFuller is the largest exclusively family law firm in the state with a total of 27 attorneys in the four North Texas offices.
Rising Star designation is an annual honor limited to 2.5 percent of eligible divorce attorneys. Candidates for this honor must either be 40 years old or younger or have practiced 10 years or less. They must all go through a three-phase process. The first is nomination by a peer or recognition by the Super Lawyers research department, which then evaluates each candidate. The last step is a review of candidates by their peers within their primary practice area.
Attorneys are evaluated based on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement, including verdicts and settlements, legal experience, honors and awards, special licenses and certifications, education, training and other measures of ability.
KoonsFuller is one of the nation's largest exclusively family law firms with 27 divorce and family law attorneys in four North Texas locations. Nineteen of the KoonsFuller attorneys have made the list of Texas Super Lawyers or Rising Stars.
