MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Impresora Sudamericana, a subsidiary of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. and a leading printer and distributor of telephone directories, books and newspapers in Latin America, announced that it has received two awards in the XVIII Theobaldo De Nigris printing competition. Impresora Sudamericana received a Golden Graphic Award for the 2010-2011 Montevideo Yellow Pages Directory. This is the second successive year that the Company has earned this recognition. The Company also received a Silver Graphic award for the Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires 2011 Yellow Pages Directory, as well as Quality Special Mention for the Montserrat Telecommunications Service Directory for 2011-2012.
The awards were presented by the Confederation of Latin American Printing Associations (CONLATINGRAF) during the annual Graphics of the Americas (GOA) show, held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, March 1-3, 2012.
Named for Brazilian industrialist, Theobaldo De Nigris, a former President of CONLATINGRAF who was instrumental in the integration of the printing industries of Latin America, the competition is conceived as a “graphic Olympiad” between countries. The competition is considered the most important event of the Latin American printing industry and showcases the new technologies and product quality of its 15 member countries. Comprising international experts from training centers and premier graphic technical institutions across Latin America, the judging panel for this year’s competition selected award winners from among more than 1,100 entries.
Raul Mairata, Managing Director of Impresora Sudamericana, commented, “It’s a great honor that Impresora Sudamericana has for a second consecutive year received one of highest honors of the Theobaldo De Nigris competition – a Golden Graphic Award. We’re proud to provide our clients with print products ranking among the best in Latin America. I commend all our employees for their dedication in achieving this outstanding recognition.”
Impresora Sudamericana’s winning entries were on display at the CONLATINGRAF booth in the Graphics of the Americas show.
