SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Neonode Inc. (NEON.OB), the leading optical touch technology company, today announces that Oregon Scientific has chosen Neonode multi-sensing technology inside its new and interactive children tablet MEEP! Neonode provides solutions to several global key manufacturers of touch enabled devices and has signed a multi-year contract with IDT Technology Limited (ITL) which is the manufacturing arm for Oregon Scientific products.
Thomas Eriksson, CEO of Neonode said: “We are very excited about the opportunity to work with Oregon Scientific! They have launched a smart product especially developed for children. The MEEP! Tablet shows both our companies' innovation, and we believe this will prove to be a very competitive breakthrough in the growing market for sustainable and affordable interactive tablets for kids.”
Young children are introduced to tech products at an early age; the sounds and graphics gain children’s attention. In addition to actually developing children’s abilities, technology provides an opportunity for assessment. Implementing zForce durable Multi-Sensing technology into the MEEP! tablet not only supports the highly interactive content, but also allows for children’s rough handling of the device, resulting in an affordable tablet for a tech –hungry generation. The tablet also features a rugged design and an enhanced rubber silicon sleeve for added protection.
Raymond Chan, Chairman & CEO of Oregon Scientific said: “Oregon Scientific embraces innovations that contribute to people’s betterment and well-being. Neonode’s Multi-Sensing solution complements the vision with the MEEP! tablet. We determined that Multi-Sensing technology from Neonode is very suitable for our new children’s products - durable and affordable with outstanding user experience for choosy kids.”
The MEEP! tablet is Wi-Fi enabled, web content can be downloaded to its internal memory or SD card and viewed from any angle courtesy of the tablet's internal G-Sensor. MEEP! tablet runs on the Android operating system and offers music, movies, e-books, and apps from leading developers - all on a large, 7-inch color touch screen with Neonode zForce Multi-Sensing technology. MEEP! is suitable for ages six and up, and parents can monitor and limit web access via an online control panel.
