T.Y. Lin International Hires Russell E. Tripp, P.E., as Chief Airfield Engineer

Noted Aviation Expert to Oversee Airport Infrastructure Projects

SAN FRANCISCO--()--T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announced today that Russell E. Tripp, P.E., has been named Chief Airfield Engineer, with responsibility for overseeing the planning, design, programming, and construction management of aviation infrastructure and facilities projects.

Tripp comes to TYLI with more than 40 years of distinguished experience in civil engineering, working primarily on aviation projects, with consultants, contractors and the FAA. He has provided design and construction phase services on aviation projects at major hub airports throughout the USA and abroad. His recent work includes on-site support for several military airfield design-build projects in the Middle East. His international experience also includes support for the airport expansion program in Mumbai, India, design projects in Qatar and Bahrain and consulting assignments in Korea and the Philippines. Tripp served for 28 years as an officer in the Regular Army and Army Reserve, in a variety of engineer, special operations and other assignments, with service in Germany, Thailand, Vietnam and Panama.

Tripp is a licensed professional engineer in multiple states. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Florida International University, and is currently a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of American Military Engineers. Tripp is also a licensed commercial pilot with single and multi-engine airplane, seaplane, and helicopter ratings.
