NEW YORK--()--Renegade home renovator and 90s’ pop icon Vanilla Ice and his crew will be back for a third season of hardcore renovations in 2013. With production expected to begin in May of this year, DIY Network’s popular home improvement series, “The Vanilla Ice Project,” will tackle an all new busted Palm Beach mansion and Vanilla Ice guarantees it will be something special.

“I am stoked for a whole new season of ‘The Vanilla Ice Project,’” said Rob Van Winkle, better known as Vanilla Ice. “It’s an honor to live out my passion, flipping houses day-in and day-out with my amazing crew, and we can’t wait to break ground on our newest adventure.”

“We are truly proud to have Vanilla Ice as part of DIY Network’s family and couldn’t be happier to continue working with such a well-rounded and iconic talent,” said Ross Babbit, DIY Network’s GM/SVP. “We look forward to a highly successful and entertaining third season of ‘The Vanilla Ice Project,’ as well as continuing to establish DIY Network as the destination for rock star renovation.”

After his chart topping hit “Ice Ice Baby,” Van Winkle turned his focus to a new hobby – buying land and flipping houses. He’s renovated old homes and foreclosures, and taught himself the basics through hands-on experience, research and over a decade’s worth of knowledge. The first season of DIY Network’s “The Vanilla Ice Project” premiered to critical-acclaim in October 2010 and the second season premiered on January 21, 2012 with new episodes airing every Saturday night at 10 p.m. ET.
