DUSSELDORF, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--VeriFone Systems, Inc. (NYSE: PAY), and B+S Card Service GmbH today announced that B+S has implemented PAYware TCS, a solution component of VeriFone’s PAYMEDIA Universal Acceptance Platform (UAP), which enables central management of applications on payment acceptance systems at merchant locations.
PAYware TCS enables network service providers to remotely manage payment functions at merchant locations equipped with VeriFone’s Artema Hybrid and H5000 payment acceptance solutions. That provides an efficient process to deploy new applications and update existing applications, including the future management of NFC applications at merchant sites.

Based on European standards, PAYware TCS allows multinational retailers to harmonize their payment solution in multiple countries in Europe and to be SEPA ready. It can be implemented on previously deployed Artema Hybrid systems without requiring hardware upgrades in the field. The Artema Hybrid, was added to the VeriFone portfolio when VeriFone completed its acquisition of Hypercom in August 2011 and is the most successful payment solution in the German market. The H5000 is the successor to Artema Hybrid and accommodates multiple payment types, including legacy magnetic stripe, EMV chip as well as contactless transaction with a single hybrid card slot and integrated NFC/contactless reader.
PAYware TCS is generally available in Germany as a managed service from VeriFone. PAYMEDIA UAP, announced separately this week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, is a complete suite of services and software to manage mobile wallet acceptance at merchant systems. PAYMEDIA UAP provides everything needed to deliver the benefits of advanced mobile payment, promotions and couponing applications to millions of consumers and merchants worldwide.
