BARCELONA, Spain--()--Red Bend Software, the market leader in Mobile Software Management (MSM) with more than 1 billion Red Bend-Enabled™ devices, today announced that Panasonic Corporation, the largest consumer electronics manufacturer in Japan, has selected Red Bend’s vLogix Mobile™ solution for Mobile Virtualization to provide security and private content protection for Android smartphones. Panasonic will use Red Bend’s solution in smartphones manufactured by Panasonic Mobile Communications for deployment worldwide. This solution prevents unauthorized access to private content, such as pictures, videos, documents and emails, in the event smartphones are lost.

Using Red Bend’s vLogix Mobile, Panasonic has combined Android and a secure Linux operating system to deliver a new level of embedded privacy and content protection to the Android user experience. vLogix Mobile is the industry’s leading Mobile Virtualization solution, licensed by more manufacturers to virtualize more smartphones and connected devices than all other Mobile Virtualization products combined. The solution uses a Type-1 mobile hypervisor to allow multiple operating systems to run simultaneously, separately and securely on the same hardware platform.

“Red Bend’s innovative Mobile Virtualization solution has enabled Panasonic to make Android smartphones more secure for mobile consumers by creating a protected folder for consumer data that is completely separate from the Android OS,” said Kazuo Kajimoto, Digital & Network Technology Development Center Director of Panasonic. “Panasonic mobile consumers around the world will have peace of mind knowing their private content will remain safe in case their smartphone is lost. We are extremely pleased to continue our trusted collaboration with Red Bend to make the mobile user experience continuously better.”

Yoram Salinger, CEO of Red Bend Software, said, “Today’s announcement with Panasonic for Mobile Virtualization deepens our close partnership with Panasonic that began in 2010. From protecting smartphone content to managing tablet software over the air, Red Bend is enabling Panasonic to deliver innovative solutions for mobile consumers through market-leading Mobile Software Management and Mobile Virtualization products and world-class engineering support.”
