Booth HS27
Mobile World Congress 2012

BARCELONA, Spain--()--CSR plc (LSE: CSR; NASDAQ: CSRE) and Software Imaging Limited today jointly launched DirectOffice™ Mobile Print 3.0, now shipping in top tier manufacturers’ mobile phones and tablets including tier one Android™ OEMs. DirectOffice Mobile Print 3.0 offers the ability to print from mobile devices to most existing printers, delivering printed output that matches the original, rather than simplified versions typically rendered by earlier generation mobile print technologies.

DirectOffice Mobile Print 3.0 will be on display at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, 27 February through 1 March 2012 in Hall 4, Level 0, Booth HS27.

“With the combined smartphone/tablet market expected to reach one billion units by 2015, consumers expect and need to perform the same functions on these mobile devices, with the same quality, as they do from PCs,” said Neil Epstein, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Document Imaging at CSR. “DirectOffice Mobile Print is the first mobile printing solution designed to meet this need, without requiring drivers, on the majority of printer models on the market today. For the first time in mobile printing, what you see is truly what you get.”

Developed jointly between CSR and Software Imaging Limited, DirectOffice Mobile Print 3.0 combines powerful print capabilities with seamless integration with preloaded applications on smartphones and tablets, and easy discovery of printers on a wireless network. “Unlike other mobile printing solutions, which work with a limited set of printers and document formats or require an investment in new devices, DirectOffice allows users to print to their existing printers,” said Mike Phillips, Director of Mobile Products at Software Imaging. With DirectOffice Mobile Print, users can print Microsoft® Word, PowerPoint®, Excel® and Adobe® PDF documents, web pages, emails and photos directly over Wi-Fi® to their home or office printer –more than 85 percent of printers are supported – or through multiple cloud service providers to most business centre or public printers, all without installing printer-specific drivers. Additionally, advanced automatic printer discovery-and-configuration capabilities enable consumers to easily locate, save and geotag printers for future use.

CSR will be at Mobile World Congress 2012 (Hall 4, Level 0, Booth HS27). To see a demonstration of consumer products powered by CSR please email external.communications@csr.com to book a visit.
