Disabled Veterans National Foundation Offers Assistance to Veterans Who May Have Been Exposed to Agent Orange on One of 47 Newly Identified Ships

WASHINGTON--()--The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) supports Navy and Coast Guard veterans who may have been affected by Agent Orange after serving on one of the 47 additional vessels recently identified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as having crews that possibly were exposed to the deadly defoliant between 1962 and 1975.

Veterans who served aboard these ships, and 200 others already on the list, may be eligible for disability compensation because of their exposure to Agent Orange, which is recognized to cause several types of cancer, Parkinson’s disease, and many other serious and potentially deadly illnesses. The VA updates its online database of ships as it is determined there is evidence a vessel operated within affected areas that potentially put crews at risk of exposure to the toxic chemical.

The DVNF offers an online listing of all VA Centers nationally where veterans can get help for illness that may have been caused by Agent Orange.

The DVNF is fully committed to helping all veterans who may be ill or disabled due to their service, and those who may have been adversely impacted by exposure to Agent Orange are a great concern,” said Raegan Rivers, Chief Executive Officer of the DVNF. “Our organization exists to connect disabled veterans to the help and services they need, and that includes making sure their medical needs are addressed quickly and adequately. We will do whatever we can to help every veteran get the attention and treatment they need.”

More information about Agent Orange and its health ramifications can be found on the Agent Orange information page on the Department of Veterans Affairs website.
