ELMOS Semiconductor AG: ELMOS at 'electronica China 2012' in Shanghai

Semiconductors and sensors for automotive and industrial applications as well as building technology

Electronica China 2012

DORTMUND, Germany--()--ELMOS introduces innovative semiconductors and sensors at the trade fair 'electronica China 2012' in Shanghai. The presentation centers around applications used in vehicles, industrial applications, and building technology. The technological focus is on sensorics, actuators, networks, and efficient voltage and power supply. On display are for example ICs for parking assist systems, current sensors, motor drivers, and solutions for gesture control. The trade show takes place at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center SNIEC from March 20 to 22, 2012. You will find ELMOS in hall 3, stand 3370.

The ELMOS component E524.03 enables ultrasonic detection requiring only one transceiver for a parking assist system. The IC is distinguished by its high sensitivity and minimum external circuitry due to digital data analysis. The semiconductor supports transducer frequencies between 40kHz and 58kHz. So far ELMOS has successfully supplied more than 200 million series-produced ICs for parking assist systems to its customers.

The current sensor E524.50 facilitates contactless and thus galvanically isolated measurement of direct currents, alternating currents, and impulse currents. The measuring principle is based on anisotropic magnetoresistance (the so-called AMR effect). The component features high bandwidth (from DC to up to 500 kHz), enabling e.g. the monitoring of IGBT-based power inverters by means of overcurrent detection which is integrated already.

The E520.01 can be used for driving up to three unipolar stepper motors. The IC stands out with its elaborate protective features: The 12-fold driver comes with high-performance motor stalling detection and comprehensive diagnostic and safety functions for the protection of the whole system. ELMOS will present other motor drivers as well, covering the whole range from DC and stepper up to BLDC.

With the E909.06, ELMOS shows an IC for gesture control. The applied HALIOS(R) principle enables a worldwide unique way of detecting proximity and gestures. HALIOS(R) solutions are highly resistant to external interference such as light or dirt. Among the fields of use are HMI applications (human machine interface), e.g. contactless on/off switching, a zoom function along the z-axis, and gesture-controlled direction detection.

'electronica China' is the internationally leading trade platform for electronic components and modules. The event covers the entire realm of the electronics industry from individual components to manufacturing.
