GetThere Mobile Lets Business Travelers Book Air Reservations within Company Policy and Preferences

SOUTHLAKE, Texas--()--GetThere (http://www.getthere.com), a global technology company serving corporations, has added new capabilities to its mobile offering, giving travelers the ability to conveniently book new air reservations within company policy and preferences for all carriers in the global distribution systems (GDS).

GetThere Mobile now allows travelers to make new hotel and air bookings via their mobile devices including iPhone, Blackberry and Android.

“With GetThere’s new mobile capabilities, we can better meet travelers’ needs on the road while still adhering to the corporation’s policies and preferences. That means increased savings for the corporation and a better travel experience for employees,” said Paul Wiley, chief product and strategy officer for GetThere. “Several GetThere customers are already using the new functionality and their travelers are delighted with this ‘on the go’ capability.”

As part of its development process, GetThere conducted a usability study, asking corporate customers to compare GetThere’s mobile capabilities with those of three well-known consumer travel brands. GetThere’s mobile air shopping and booking functionality rated the highest for ease of use.

GetThere continues to invest in delivering new mobile capabilities for corporate travelers, and will introduce additional booking capabilities later this year.

According to Sabre’s biannual survey of travelers released in Dec. 2011, business travelers are highly interested in booking travel from their mobile devices. Among business travelers surveyed, 74 percent are highly interested in booking air reservations including seat selection via mobile devices, while 70 percent are highly interested in booking hotel reservations.

All travel segments booked through GetThere and GetThere Mobile are easily integrated into TripCase, Sabre’s leading consumer mobile and web solution. Today travelers can access TripCase to manage their itineraries, receive critical flight alerts and access alternative flights information. Later this year, Sabre will integrate new capabilities into TripCase including access to travel documents and booking capabilities via the GetThere booking engine.
