Yamatake Takes Equity Stake in DegreeC

Closer collaboration to offer enhanced capabilities

TOKYO & MILFORD, N.H.--()--Yamatake Corporation (Tokyo:6845) and Degree Controls, Inc., (DegreeC), a privately held company based in Milford, NH, today announced that Yamatake has acquired a minority stake in DegreeC in an all-cash transaction for $2.5 million.

Jag Sisodia, President and CEO of DegreeC, said, “We are delighted to welcome Yamatake as an investor – but more importantly for us is the anticipated closer collaboration with Yamatake to help us bring our products and new airflow solutions to broader markets in Japan and the rest of Asia.” The two companies have enjoyed a productive partnership since the signing of a sales agreement in 2009 whereby Yamatake has sold Degree Controls’ AdaptivCOOL® line of products in the Japanese market. AdaptivCOOL offers solutions for saving energy and eliminating hotspots in data centers.

Kiyofumi Saito, Executive Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer of Yamatake Corporation, added, “We have been working with DegreeC for three years now and are pleased to be able to invest in DegreeC and work more closely together both to grow their businesses and strengthen our own substantial environmental control capabilities.” Going forward, Yamatake and DegreeC plan to expand their strategic business partnership beyond AdaptivCOOL to sales and technological development of flow sensors and controllers.
