Dane Street, a leading URAC accredited provider of Peer Review services to the Workers Compensation, Disability, Pharmacy, Auto and Group Health markets, today announced that Dr. William Hopper MD, MBA, CPE, FAAFP has joined Dane Street in the position of National Medical Director of Quality Management.
Dr. Hopper is also Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director of MediCall, a position he has held since 2010, after serving as the National Medical Director of the Concentra Physician Review program for 4 ½ years. Dr. Hopper was awarded a B.S. from Union College, an M.D. from St. Louis University Medical School and received post-graduate training at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. He completed the Executive MBA program at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Dr. Hopper has served on the faculty of Sonoma State University Department of Psychology, UC Davis School of Medicine, UCSF School of Medicine, Oregon Health Sciences University and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Hopper will lead the Quality Management team in fulfilling Dane Street’s mission of providing consistent medical necessity and other clinical analyses to its client base. This role helps to ensure that our clients receive maximum benefit from the expertise of the robust Dane Street reviewer panel. He brings to the organization over 30 years of experience in Occupational Medicine, Medical Management and Family, as well as Addiction Medicine.
He has also presented graduate educational seminars at Albany Medical School, Duke University Medical School, University of Washington and other organizations. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Pacific Foundation for Medical Care and has served as Chief of Staff for Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol, CA. Dr. Hopper has also served as an Expert Medical Reviewer for the Medical Board of California and has developed and managed utilization and quality management programs for hospitals, medical groups, IPAs, MSOs and health plans in California, New York, North Carolina, Washington State, and Oregon. He has extensive experience in the development and application of electronic health records, quality and practice performance improvement programs, evidence-based medicine, billing fraud, practice protocols, and regulatory compliance.
