NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--451Research, the leading analyst and data company focused on the business of enterprise IT, today announced that Martin Schneider has rejoined the firm as Research Manager. Schneider will lead the firm’s research in the application software arena, and he will be based in the company’s San Francisco office.
"Martin is no stranger to 451 Research, and we are delighted to have him back with us," said Simon Robinson, Research Director for Storage and Information Management, 451 Research. "His knowledge and understanding of the application software space is second to none, while his recent experience in senior marketing roles with high-growth software startups will add considerable depth to our research in a sector of the industry that is undergoing huge change."
"I am excited about picking up the analyst hat again with 451 Research," said Schneider. "Over the past five years, open source, software-as-a-service, cloud computing and social media have significantly impacted the top of the IT stack. However, I believe this trend has only just begun, and as a result, the entire application software industry is at a major turning point. I'm looking forward to advising 451 clients on how best to take advantage of these disruptive innovations."
Before rejoining 451 Research, Schneider led marketing operations for Basho Technologies, a next-generation data solutions provider. Martin joined Basho from SugarCRM, where he held various executive-level marketing positions while helping the company expand from a small open-source startup into the fastest-growing customer relationship management vendor. During his time at SugarCRM, Martin started CRM Outsiders, a blog and social media project that quickly became a destination for companies and individuals seeking insight into the new rules of sales and marketing in a sector infiltrated by social media channels, and new developments such as mobile and cloud computing. Prior to SugarCRM, Martin was a Senior Analyst covering application software for 451 Research.
451 Research is also delighted to announce the promotion of Bill Rock to Vice President, Corporate Development. Bill has been instrumental in recent years in the growth of 451 Research and has led the execution of the acquisitions of Uptime Institute/Uptime Institute Professional Services, TheInfoPro and ChangeWave Research. Additionally, 451 Research is happy to announce the promotion of Matt Aslett to the role of Research Manager. Since joining the company four years ago, Matt's coverage of the data management market has established him as one of the industry's leading authorities in an increasingly critical market sector, especially as IT stakeholders continue to grapple with the "big data" opportunity.
