BEVERLY, Mass. & BIEL, Switzerland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IXYS Corporation (NASDAQ:IXYS) and Clare, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of IXYS, announced the immediate production release of the CPC1540, a 350V, current-limiting, normally-open, 1-Form-A, optically isolated Solid State Relay (SSR) solution that replaces electromechanical devices and enhances system robustness.
The CPC1540 incorporates active current-limiting and thermal shutdown circuitry for improved survivability in harsh environments, and is designed to pass regulatory voltage surge requirements when provided with appropriate over-voltage protection. The current-limiting normally-open 1-Form-A 350V SSR is specifically designed for applications requiring high voltage. The 350V load voltage rating ensures compatibility with telephony ringing voltages while providing 3750Vrms of input to output isolation.
Designed specifically for environmentally demanding AC or DC applications, where printed circuit board space is restricted, the CPC1540 is an ideal solution. The CPC1540, with its guaranteed thermal shutdown feature, offers superior performance over the LH1540.
Additional key features include linear AC/DC operation, low power consumption, clean, bounce-free switching, and low power drive requirements.
“Our OptoMOS SSR and high voltage circuits are prevalent throughout the industry offering semiconductor control, system isolation and board savings compared to electromechanical relays. We have been successfully utilizing our own proprietary HVIC process in our own wafer fab to provide these unique features that provide SSR solution with integrated fuse-like protection. These SSRs are very useful also in advanced power management circuits, where it is desirable to cut standby energy waste and control loads efficiently,” commented Dr. Nathan Zommer, CEO of IXYS.
