Three years after the global economic crisis began, Subnational entities in Mexico continue to face an adverse environment together with a weakening budget performance. The purpose of this report is to present the performance registered in recent years by the issuer ratings assigned by Fitch in the subnational sector in Mexico, including states, municipalities and public sector entities (state and/or municipal, mainly decentralized water agencies). Fitch has maintained and monitored the ratings of 26 states and the Federal District, 69 municipalities and 18 public sector entities (mainly Water Utilities) with data as of Aug. 31, 2011.
