SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) today announced that Doug Darrow has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Dolby’s cinema business. He will develop and execute strategies that build on Dolby’s leadership position in cinema technologies while delivering innovation and added value to customers. Darrow will be based in San Francisco and will report to Ramzi Haidamus, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing.
Darrow is a respected industry leader with a proven record for developing and commercializing technologies that revolutionize entertainment. He was most recently president and CEO of Laser Light Engines, a start-up company developing revolutionary solid-state red-green-blue (RGB) laser-illumination systems for high-brightness projectors.

Prior to joining Laser Light Engines, Darrow spent 24 years with Texas Instruments, serving most recently as general manager of its DLP Cinema® products business, where he oversaw the development and marketing of DLP Cinema technology. Darrow played a key role in the industry’s transition to digital presentation and distribution by enabling the wide-scale deployment of digital cinema projectors and 3D digital cinema presentation, including the first digital cinema release of Star Wars: Episode I—The Phantom Menace.
