LUSAKA, Zambia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Regus, the world’s largest provider of flexible workplaces, has opened its first business centre in Zambia, Lusaka, responding to growing demand for flexible workspace and rising business confidence in Sub-Saharan Africa. This launch, Regus ‘93rd country, follows a series of openings in Africa, including Ivory Coast, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana and Senegal.
Zambia is delivering an impressive economic performance, with growth of over six per cent predicted this year.1 The Economist expects Zambia to be one of the world’s ten fastest-growing economies in 2011-2015, with six other Sub-Saharan African countries also in the top ten.2 Numerous factors are fuelling economic performance in Africa, including growth of entrepreneurship, rising foreign direct investment, Western businesses’ search for new markets, and growth in intraregional trade.
Mark Dixon, CEO of Regus, comments: “Economic performance, predicted growth, political stability, and government plans for infrastructure development make Zambia a good place to do business. The arrival of Regus’ flexible, business-ready workspace will make it easier for companies to do business here, enabling them to scale up or down in line with market opportunities and conditions, without having to commit to long-term or unsuitable business premises.”
Dixon adds: “Africa is a growing market for Regus. We’ve seen a surge in enquiries, with year on year growth of 40%. Regus’ launches in Zambia and elsewhere in Africa are a response to that surge in demand, driven by strong economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa, and the adoption of new, more efficient and productive ways of working. We’ll continue to invest in our network in Africa and across the globe in order to meet demand.”
Note to Editors
The new centre is located in Rhodes Park, the most sought-after business location in Lusaka. It features fully-equipped offices, meeting and conference rooms, high-speed secure internet, and multilingual business support.
