LONDON & GENEVA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--XPEREDON (www.xperedon.com) announces the launch of its revolutionary charity platform. The platform, brainchild of British-born businessman Julian Worth, is the latest venture of the co-founder of WGSN, a UK online business he sold in 2005 for $250 million.
Worth soon found himself drawn into the world of philanthropy, and it wasn’t long before Xperedon was conceived.
Three years and $5 million of investment later, Swiss-designed and built Xperedon has evolved into a charity fundraising platform with unmatched convenience and functionality, offering local and cross-border giving, and a unique global showcase for charities.
Xperedon’s database currently boasts over 5,500 researched international charities of all types and size, in 26 countries, and is growing daily. Anyone can recommend legitimate charities for inclusion in the database, where they gain global exposure thanks to Xperedon’s investment and web presence, something that individual fundraisers are unable to do.
“At the heart of Xperedon are the core concepts of the Personal Charity Plan and Portfolio. Think of it as your personal charity DNA”, says Worth. “Each user’s account contains a “Portfolio” of up to 20 charities. Users manage their Portfolios online; add or remove charities freely, change the way in which donations are shared, and manage donation amounts and methods. “Xperedon is all about lifestyle giving, making it relevant and fun, while putting control firmly in the hands of the donor”, adds Worth.
In the simplest use of the platform, a monthly donation is made (by credit / debit card or standing order) which is automatically distributed by Xperedon according to the account settings of the user. It’s your personal Plan, and you control it. The minimum monthly payment into a Plan is $10 / €10/ CHF10/ £10. “The beauty of Xperedon is that it achieves massive economies of scale by pooling thousands of small donations from thousands of donors around the globe. This results in meaningful sums being sent to charities, which in turn reduces their cost of collection. After costs, around 95% of money raised reaches the charities, wherever in the world they are”, says Worth.
These same economies of scale enable Xperedon to offer their services at one of the lowest rates in the industry (Xperedon is free to users and charities are not charged for listing).
The company has also developed a number of exciting ways in which users can apply their Personal Charity Plans. For example, a leading Swiss payment card issuer has recently integrated Xperedon’s CardLink™ platform, allowing its customers to seamlessly add a percentage of actual spending, which is then distributed according to their Plans. The Platform can be integrated by any card issuer. “Cardholders that sign up automatically spend more, typically between 3% and 6%. The card industry is all about volume, so we expect other issuers to follow suit and offer this ground-breaking service to their clients” adds Worth.
Xperedon plans to introduce an even more sophisticated level of CardLink in the coming months, allowing donors to directly match giving to spending, by channelling donations to specific charities based on the nature of the purchase. Another novelty, “Giving Gifts” are sent by email and the recipient uses the cash gift to donate to their own favourite charities.
Using the same patented platform, portfolios can be used to vote in Corporate Donation Schemes. “Why not give the vote to employees”, says Worth. “They’re the people that helped make the money that the company is giving – it’s a great way of empowering staff and showing that the company cares. It’s also a great employee retention tool, a cost-free perk, and a fully outsourced solution for companies” Xperedon uses sophisticated algorithms to quantify the value of donations represented by these votes, which it then distributes to the charities on behalf of participating companies.
These are just a few examples of the novel products Xperedon has built around its pioneering “one stop” platform for charity giving, with more to come. The company aims to make Xperedon the “antidote to donor fatigue” and the one-stop standard solution for charity giving worldwide. “We all have a responsibility for helping others”, says Worth. “Your Xperedon account should be as important as your Email, Facebook or Twitter account!”
