SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--G7 Productivity Systems (“G7”) reports that the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) is enforcing use restrictions related to certain Finance Management and Check Creation Software titles subsequent to a court order in connection with Case No. 06-CV-1952 JLS (JMA) U.S. District Court, Southern District. Users are to be denied access to key software features, unless they disclose and submit their financial information and personal data to a 3rd party organization for validation.
Background:
The FTC vs. G7/Neovi/Qchex case began in September 2006 with claims against an Internet-based paper check printing and delivery service called Qchex. Some unknown users abused Qchex and G7/Neovi resources to create invalid and fraudulent checks. Subsequently the FTC demanded and achieved a court ruling, which required G7 Productivity Systems to affirmatively deny its services unless customers validated their bank account control and identity through a 3rd party.
The FTC is demanding a broad scope of the ruling and claims that users of G7 VersaCheck 2010 and 2012 software products are equally subject to the ruling’s provisions. Existing and prospective customers are therefore compelled to validate account control prior to using check writing software. G7 apologizes for any inconvenience resulting from the enforcement of the District Court’s Order and references www.gvalidate.com as a trusted 3rd party to its users for protected validation of information in order to comply. In connection with the FTC action G7 publishing rights in VersaCheck were withdrawn. Users can however up-convert to “VersaCheck X1” – an ultra secure check creation solution based on DNA Secure check technology offered by a third party. VersaCheck X1 affirmatively safeguards its users from check fraud, provides real-time electronic transaction alerts and online check verification - free. DNA Secure VersaCheck X1 software is published by and available at www.versacheck.com.
Consumers and businesses may opt to pursue an official inquiry with the FTC for clarification on the scope of its enforcement intent regarding the subject court ruling, which may affect them and their rights. Please use www.g7ps.com/FTC-Official-Inquiry as a resource to file your request for an official response.
