DUBAI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Strata, Mubadala Aerospace’s advanced composite aerostructures manufacturing plant in Al Ain, today announced that it has selected Dassault Systèmes (Paris:DSY)(Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, and its UAE partner Dasbat Aviation, an Abu Dhabi based company which PLM Division is focused on High Tech software and PLM Competency Center, to deploy its PLM solutions with the objective to accelerate the introduction of new products, lower development costs, and reduce time to certification.
The selected Dassault Systèmes’ solutions include CATIA for virtual design, DELMIA for digital manufacturing and ENOVIA for collaborative innovation. Strata is unifying its engineering processes by standardizing its solutions around CATIA and ENOVIA, as a single environment to improve real-time collaborative engineering. It will provide common change management and configuration control between engineering and manufacturing to speed development, making sure both teams are working collaboratively on the same version. With DELMIA, Strata will be able to validate manufacturing processes before application is applied to identify potential issues early. Dassault Systèmes’ solutions will initially be utilised for manufacturing applications used at Strata’s facility in Al Ain. It is anticipated that future applications will focus on using Dassault Systèmes’ innovation composite design solutions.
The full roll-out of Dassault Systèmes’ PLM solutions will be completed this month.
Ross Bradley, Chief Executive Officer of Strata said: “The integration of the ENOVIA and DELMIA solutions combined with CATIA, will add a new dimension to the way Strata approaches its manufacturing processes in a 3D environment. As an organization that prides itself on pushing the boundaries of new technologies, Strata is always looking for technology-driven solutions and new approaches to delivering the very best results for its customers.”
Philippe Forestier, Executive Vice-President Global Affairs and Communities, Dassault Systèmes, commented: “Through the use of advanced collaborative processes, Strata will be able to achieve important cost reductions whilst meeting the most stringent quality requirements. I’m delighted that Dassault Systèmes is playing a key role in Strata by supporting the very ambitious program to become a leading Tier-1 supplier in composite aerostructures design and manufacturing.”
