AMSTERDAM--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TomTom today announces an extended contract with the USGS, the nation’s central repository and distribution center for geospatial information. Through the renewed contract, the USGS will continue to use TomTom’s highly accurate maps to support The National Map Viewer and the US Topo. The transportation layer of MultiNet, TomTom’s premiere map product, is available for viewing in both of these products.
“Through the USGS contract, TomTom will support critical geospatial infrastructure programs with national exposure to the United States’ Federal, State and local agencies, as well as to the public,” said Maarten van Gool, Managing Director TomTom Licensing. “We’re proud that the USGS once again chose TomTom to provide map data for such an important program.”
The TomTom map covers over 6.5 million miles of roads in the United States, providing location data for both urban and rural geographies.
