BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SRS | Shareholder Representative Services, the leading post-closing expert for private company mergers and acquisitions, today announced its expansion in the Northeast with the hire of Amanda Jackson as Director of Business Development for the region. Jackson, who is based in Boston, will closely manage SRS’ relationships with the M&A community, including private equity and venture capital clients, M&A attorneys, investment bankers, and management teams that are selling or planning to sell their companies.
The Northeast region has long served as one of the most significant sources of private capital for companies operating in diverse industries, including technology, healthcare, life sciences, consumer products, financial services, and manufacturing. According to data from the Private Equity Growth Capital Council, there are approximately 985 PE-backed companies headquartered in New York, 621 in Pennsylvania, 489 in Massachusetts, and 282 in Connecticut. Many of these companies will likely participate in a merger, as M&A continues to be the primary avenue for liquidity for shareholders.
“Amanda Jackson has joined the SRS team to lead business development for the Northeast, where we serve one of the most vibrant private investment markets in the world,” said Mark Vogel, Managing Director at SRS. “Amanda’s prior experience working with the M&A deal community will help us provide even greater value to clients in the area.”
SRS has advised numerous selling shareholders involved in high profile deals in the Northeast over the past year, including the acquisition of ITA Software by Google, the purchase of Quidsi by Amazon and the acquisition of Huffington Post by AOL, among others.
“Deal makers have started to understand that they need a professional shareholder representative with deep expertise on all their deals,” said Jackson. “SRS has handled many more post-closing issues than anyone, and I’m excited to bring this message to clients and prospects throughout the region.”
Amanda brings more than ten years of business development experience from the financial printing industry, where she assisted clients with initial public offerings, M&A transactions and compliance filings.
