Six months after the devastating earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster, the families of northeastern Japan still need our help. As part of its disaster relief program to provide assistance, Prudential has joined with Dentsu, PSE&G, the Japanese Medical Society of America and a number of other partner organizations to organize and support the Before the Snow 5K Run/Walk for Japan earthquake disaster relief. All of the funds raised will be donated to the Japan Society Earthquake Relief Fund, which supports nine local nonprofit organizations on the front lines of relief and recovery in Tohoku.

“Tohoku, the region most impacted by the earthquake and resulting tsunami, is out of the headlines but thousands of people there have been displaced and it will take many years to recover,” said Simon Locke, a vice president in Global Communications at Prudential and chairman of the Before the Snow Organizing Committee. “This run is one of a number of ways in which Prudential is supporting the victims of this tragedy and sending a message that they have not been forgotten.” Earlier, The Prudential Foundation pledged $6.1 million to help disaster relief efforts in Japan.
