LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CDNetworks, the only global content delivery network with local expertise and infrastructure in China and across six continents, today announced a strategic partnership with MegaFon, one of Russia’s leading telecommunications service providers. Under the terms of the agreement, MegaFon will deploy and sell the CDNetworks Web Performance Suite services to customers within Russia.
Internet usage in Russia has grown exponentially in recent years, with more than 59 million Internet users in 2011. However, Internet coverage in Russia is uneven and the digital divide is a concern. MegaFon’s reliable network service area covers all 83 regions of Russia and provides a robust range of services throughout the country. In addition to their existing sales force, MegaFon is deploying a specialized team in Russia dedicated to CDNetworks' content delivery offering. The partnership enables CDNetworks to dramatically extend its sales and support reach throughout Russia.
CDNetworks has a strong history of commitment to Russian service providers. Its existing points of presence within Moscow complimented by a vast deployment of nodes across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, allows for greater connectivity to Russia as well as more reliable and scalable Web acceleration services. Through its globally distributed network and Web Performance Suite, CDNetworks helps businesses get closer to their end users. Working with MegaFon, CDNetworks will further expand its customers’ reach into challenging markets.
“Through our advanced Web acceleration technologies and MegaFon’s market-leading network, and local domain expertise, our customers gain exceptional Web performance and superior support while extending their businesses into one of the fastest growing regions in the world,” said John Kang, Vice President of Global Channels and Business Development. “We’re excited to accelerate our global reach with our strategic partnership with MegaFon, empowering them to further monetize their existing infrastructures and sell value added services to their customers.”
“By deploying CDNetworks’ cloud-based infrastructure into our datacenters, we have created the first local CDN in Russia with a truly global reach. We now can offer a higher level of service to our customers that seek to optimize website performance for both local and global audiences,” said Konstantin Solodukhin, Management of Development of National Corporate Sales and Operator Business, Assistant Director General OJSC at MegaFon. “Moreover, the combination of our advanced datacenter services with CDNetworks’ Web Performance Suite gives our customers significantly fast content delivery with high quality of services without increasing infrastructure costs.”
