LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Vision Center at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles has expanded pediatric eye care to Beverly Hills residents at The Doheny Eye Center. The facility is predominately an adult eye care center, but in partnership with The Vision Center, has expanded its services to serve the youngest of patients by the best doctors.
Golareh Fazilat, MD, will be one of the first and only pediatric ophthalmologists in the Center. “I am very excited to be part of this venture and able to expand our expertise to help children in West Los Angeles,” said Fazilat “The Vision Center is an international referral center for complex eye conditions in children, so I am thrilled to be a part of this expansion and able to offer patients the benefits of a fully equipped surgical facility on our main campus specializing in pediatric needs.”
This is the third expansion of The Vision Center within a year as they recently opened an office in the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center in Arcadia as well as a partnership with The Doheny Eye Center at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center in Orange County.
Thomas Lee, MD, division chief of The Vision Center, said: “Because of our reputation of care, we need to expand our offices throughout Los Angeles to accommodate the number of patients we see. With over 13,000 patients each year in our Children’s Hospital location alone, we actually see more patients per square foot than any other institution in the country.”
“Dr. Fazilat is an ideal physician who has trained as a fellow with our outstanding team of doctors in The Vision Center and we are confident she will thrive in this new role as the Center’s sole pediatric ophthalmologist in Beverly Hills,” said Lee.
The Center schedules patients for ophthalmic care in children on Mondays.
